Honored to Be Honored
Around Norscot, we always say that the truest
measure of the quality and value of our scale
models is that so many people the world over
continue to purchase and enjoy them. In the
end, it’s really all about pleasing our customers.
Still, it’s nice to get noticed by the press
as well. So we feel especially honored that
three Norscot models (maybe five, as you’ll
learn when you read on) made Toy Trucker
& Contractor’s “Best Die-Cast of 2007”
list.
Best 1:64 Scale Modern Construction Replica
We’re proud to report that the TT&C panel
of collectors chose our Cat 385C L Hydraulic
Excavator (Item 55203) in this category. Here’s some of what Mark Macreading, who
compiled the votes and wrote the article,
had to say:
“This is the first year collectors have voted
a 1:64 scale construction model in. I believe
the fact that Norscot produced a 1:64 scale
machine with realistic metal tracks had a
lot to do with it. Norscot’s 385C L is a
replica that collectors can be proud to display
…”
Best 1:50 Scale Modern Construction Replica
Here, the winners from Norscot were the Cat
14M Motor Grader (Item 55189) and the Cat
D6T XW VPAT Track-Type Tractor (Item 55197). Plus – and here’s where the total of five
winners comes in – Macreading wrote: “Actually, I should also add the Cat 657G
Wheel Tractor Scraper (Item 55175) and the Cat 793D Mining Truck with
the new dump body (Item 55174). I received a large number of votes for all
of these Norscot models this year.”
He went on to say: “Norscot has produced a winner in our annual
‘Best Of’ feature every year since I started
the feature in 2001. In 2001, their Cat D11R
Track-Type Tractor with metal tracks took
top honors.
“For 2007, they focused on finer details,
such as painted rivets and better-scaled
metal rails. The key is Norscot’s excellent
attention to detail while still keeping the
models’ price points within the average collector’s
budget. It keeps their replicas on our ‘Best
Of’ list year after year.”
